Ingredients
1 lb flank steak, thinly sliced
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 red chilli, finely chopped
1 onion, sliced
1 bell pepper, sliced
1 cup fresh basil leaves
2 tablespoons soy sauce
2 tablespoons oyster sauce
1 tablespoon fish sauce
1 teaspoon sugar
Cooked rice, for serving
Instructions
1. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over high heat. Add the sliced flank steak and sear for 2-3 minutes until browned. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
2. In the same skillet, add a little more oil if needed. Add the minced garlic and chopped red chilli. Cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
3. Add the sliced onion and bell pepper to the skillet. Stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until they begin to soften.
4. Return the seared flank steak to the skillet. Stir in the soy sauce, oyster sauce, fish sauce, and sugar. Cook for another 2-3 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.
5. Remove the skillet from the heat and stir in the fresh basil leaves until they just wilt.
6. Serve the Thai basil beef over cooked rice and enjoy.
