Ingredients

  • 4 boneless pork chops
  • Salt and pepper for seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup Southern Comfort liqueur
  • 1/4 cup chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. 1. Season the pork chops with salt and pepper on both sides.
  2. 2. In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat.
  3. 3. Sear the pork chops for 3-4 minutes on each side, until golden brown and cooked through. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  4. 4. In the same skillet, add the Southern Comfort, chicken broth, brown sugar, Dijon mustard, and Worcestershire sauce. Bring to a simmer and cook for 5-7 minutes, or until the sauce has reduced and thickened slightly.
  5. 5. Return the pork chops to the skillet, coating them in the Southern Comfort glaze. Let them simmer in the glaze for another 3-5 minutes, until the sauce coats the pork chops nicely.
  6. 6. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve the pork chops with the remaining glaze poured over the top.

Cooking Notes

  • Be cautious when working with the Southern Comfort and the open flame, as it is flammable when heated.

Beer, Wine, Cocktail Pairings

  • Beer Pairing: An American-style lager or a light, crisp pale ale would complement the flavors of the dish perfectly.
  • Wine Pairing: A medium-bodied Chardonnay or a fruity Pinot Noir would be delightful with the sweet and savory elements of the pork chops.
  • Cocktail Pairing: A classic Southern Comfort Old Fashioned would be a fantastic cocktail pairing for this dish.
